The whole "Megillah"!

Yes, yes, yes!
The "Megillah" sweater is finished!
And I love it. And the sleeves are perfect!
I finished it on Friday and wanted the young man, who ordered it to pick it up as soon as possible. I was afraid something might happen to it. Or I might decide to change something else. After I undid the Bind Off and let two of the stitches ravel almost up to the neck, just so I could correct the twisted stitch. I mean no one but me would have noticed it! But I knew it was there and just could not let it be.
All in all it was a wonderful learning experience ans I did make a sweater I am proud of. Oh, and the "Megillah" is almost finished!
FYI:
I was asked a few questions about the name of the sweater. It was named in honor of the barter exchange I made with a young man, who wanted a spacial sweater to give as a gift. The gentleman in question is a Soifer - a Jewish Scribe. He writes beautiful mezuzos and megillahs. Megillah is a scroll, made of parchment, which is written by hand using a quill. I bartered for Megillat Ester - the scroll, that is read twice on Purim. This was something I wanted to give DH for many, many years. But could never afford.
As I said above the story of Ester is read on Purim. One has to hear each word! If the reader is very good - meaning clear and fast it can take about 30-40 minutes. To small children, or adults that do not really understand what the story is about this can feel like eternity. This is where the expression the "whole Megillah" comes from - if someone told you the whole megillah it was a long story.

  6. Sweater turned out beautifully, I do hope the recipient enjoys it for many years. I love the colors and how they work together. It is worth the "sweat" that went into the creation!!
